A Cold Heart Stirred Up by the Lord to Run after Him

My experience with the local church began in the fall of 1994. At that time I was a junior in college majoring in Aerospace Engineering. I grew up Roman Catholic and had even gone to a high school seminary. Although I received the Lord as my Savior at an early age, by the time I was in college my heart had grown cold to the Lord. All I cared about was my schoolwork and having fun.

One day a friend invited me to a meeting on campus and I agreed to go. I don't remember much about that meeting, but afterwards I met another Christian and we exchanged phone numbers.

After a few weeks I began to meet with him on campus twice a week. We began to read the book of John together. I remember that these times with him were so enjoyable. Never before was the Bible opened to me in such a way. Every time we met together I saw something new in the Bible, and every time I left I was very happy within.

Eventually I decided to go with him to a meeting on the Lord's Day (Sunday). At first there was much praying, but after a short period of time men and women of all different ages began to stand up and speak. One by one they shared what they had experienced of Jesus Christ during the week. I was very impressed by this. Never before had I heard so many people testify that Christ could be experienced daily.

I continued to meet with my friend on campus and gradually began to come to larger meetings more and more. Every meeting I was impressed with fresh revelation from the Bible. I was also touched by the care of the believers. Their homes were wide open to me and I felt welcome whenever I visited.

After being in the local church for the past 4½ years, I would like to testify that my experience has always been positive. During these last years I have come to know the Lord and to love Him more and more. I thank and praise the Lord for bringing me to such a wonderful place.

A Ministry Full of Life and Light

The ministries of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee focus on Christ, and have always brought me to turn to the Lord and to love Him more. Their ministry has also opened the Bible to me. I have read the Bible before and understood very little. But after reading just one message from Brother Lee or Nee, a certain portion of the Bible becomes so clear. I'm not saying that I understand everything in the Bible, but that it is no longer a total mystery. The way has been opened for me to dig out all the riches from the Word. The Bible is not the same as it once was. Now I see that from Genesis to Revelation the Bible is a book that reveals Christ.
